Jenny Leigh Rose

Jenny Leigh Rose,44, of 214 Washington Street, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at her home.

She was born April 13th 1972 to the late Rufus S. Rose Jr. and Gloria Dean Hawkins Rose.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Melinda Rose Sutherland, paternal grandparents, Rufus S Rose Sr and Rennie Davis Rose, maternal grandparents, James Otis Hawkins and Roy Lee Rose Hawkins and a wonderful step mother, Virginia Martin Rose, her cousin, Sherry Leigh Davis.
She is survived by one brother Sanford E. Rose (Amy) of Carolina Beach, NC, a sister Cynthia R. Green of the home, her twin sister Penny Stokes (Stephen) of Roanoke Rapids. Her children, the lights of her life Taylor Marie Tomlinson and Michael Marion Tomlinson and one grandson, Hayden Jace Moody, step-brothers, Ken Barnes and wife Melissa of Manassas, VA, Brian Henry of Roanoke Rapids and Bruce Henry and wife Kellie of Leander, TX. Also left to cherish her memory is one maternal Uncle, James M. Hawkins of Roanoke Rapids and one maternal Aunt Doris Crawley Hawkins of Charlotte, NC and paternal Aunts and Uncles, Bobby and Glenda Harrell, Pete and Kathryn Floyd, all of Jackson and Horace and Frances Davis of Lakeland Florida, and a special man that has helped her all of her life, Tommy Sutherland who raised her from an early teen after her mom died until she was grown. Also a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as a wonderful step-mother, Mary Rose of Roanoke Rapids.
Jenny was a graduate of RRHS in 1990. Jenny had many special qualities that included a heart of gold always giving anything she had to anyone in need and never asking for anything in return. Her need to help everyone no matter their status in life shows how non- judgemental she was. Jenny started faithfully attending Victory Baptist Church in 1999, she was saved, baptized, and joined there. She said today she is not afraid to die because she knows where she is going, but she requests everyone get right with God.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Dr. Dennis W. Gregory, Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. T

he family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
