
Steven Warren Dickens, 65, of Pittsboro, formerly of Gaston and Roanoke Rapids passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017.
Steven was born December 6, 1951 in Richmond, VA, to Allen and Thelma Dickens. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Dickens; his first wife, Norma Little Dickens.
Steven was a lifelong farmer. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger and he could light up a room with his smile and personality. He liked playing the guitar.
Steven is survived by his wife Elizabeth Dickens of Pittsboro, NC; his parents Allen and Thelma Dickens of Gaston; his children, Lewis Dickens and his wife Missy of Emporia, VA, Stephanie Dunlow and her husband Timothy, Phillip dickens and his wife Heather both of Roanoke Rapids and John Allen Dickens of Pittsboro, NC; his grandchildren, Haley Dunlow, Claire Dickens, Cassidy Dickens and Holden Dunlow; his sisters, Deborah ricks and her husband Earl of Roanoke Rapids and Donna Clements and her husband Mason of Skippers, VA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 7, 2017 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the funeral home and other times at the home of his parents on Old Emporia Road, Gaston.
