William Guy Keeter

William Guy Keeter died on May 12, 2014 at his home.

Guy was born on September 19, 1927 in Halifax County to the late Claude and Magdalene Hux Keeter.

His only remaining sibling is his sister: Maggie Mae Tant.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years: Barbara Green Keeter; and three grandsons Owen Drew Keeter, Jonathan Glenn Keeter and Matthew Whitfield Keeter.

Surviving are his three children: Margaret K. Warren, Glenn Alan Keeter and Michael Guy Keeter, Sr.; grandchildren: Christopher Guy Warren and family, Jess, Seneca and Cheyenne, Jennifer Odom and husband Brandon; Amy Newton and husband Chris and children Meadow and Tyler; Brandi Keeter and her daughter Peyton, and her friend Jay; Michael Guy Keeter, Jr. and wife Nikki and children, Kingston, Nolan Guy and Ollie.

Guy is also survived by three special nieces, Donna, Anne, and Polly, and many other nieces and nephews through five generations.  Also survived by many cousins and friends who loved him dearly; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Green Morrisette of Greensboro; his brother-in-law Blake Green and wife Marie of Wilmington.  Also left to cherish his memory is “Andy” his faithful companion who slept under his bed until the day he died.

Guy was retired from Albermarle Paper Company with over 34 years of service.  He was a faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.

Guy’s family extends special thanks to the many nurses and CNA’s at Roanoke Rapids Health and Rehabilitation Center and Home Health Hospice.  We give special thanks to the excellent care and promises from Dr. Isaac Miller for the past 15 years which were fulfilled with our father’s peaceful passing.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 13361 Justice Branch Rd., Littleton, NC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery beside his beloved wife.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service and other times at the home of his daughter.
