Ruth Mobley Evans

Ruth Mobley Evans, wife of the late Rev. Rudolph Evans, entered into eternal rest with Jesus on July 22, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 2, 1921, raised and educated in Edgecombe County.

On February 17, 1946, she married William Rudolph Evans. She shared his ministry with him until his death in 1995. She continued his visitation ministry to the hospitals, nursing homes and shut in until her illness in the past year.

She was a faithful member of Lakeview Park Baptist Church which they founded in 1966 and continued as a faithful member when Lakeview merged with Victory Baptist Church. She was a Godly woman loved by all as she loved all.
She is survived by her sons, William Rudolph “Rudy” Evans, Jr. and his wife Joni, Joel Scott Evans and his wife Melissa; grandchildren, Jensey Evans Carr, Victoria Evans Carraway, Scott Evans, Laura Boone and Jeff Boone; great grandchildren, Eli James Carr, Wyatt Michael Carr, Kaylie Marie Evans, Jordan Scott Evans; special friends, Butch and Faye Brown and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends and church family.
Her life will be celebrated at a visitation at Victory Baptist Church on Monday July 25, 2016, from 6-9 pm and a celebration of life well lived at Victory Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeremy Kobernat and Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
